NCSOFT just revealed a trailer for Project M, their new action-adventure game that’s currently in development for undisclosed consoles at Epic Games’ State of Unreal presentation during GDC 2023. According to Songyee Yoon, the CSO of NCSOFT, Project M will feature “immersive interactive elements” that will surely keep us hooked.

The highlight of the trailer was the appearance of NCSOFT’s CCO, Taekjin Kim, in the form of a digital human. It was pretty impressive how the company combined their own AI technology and advanced art and graphics to create a realistic-looking character. The digital human voice in the trailer was generated through the company’s AI text-to-speech synthesis technology, which translated text information into a natural human speech that reflects Taekjin Kim’s voice, accent, and emotions.

Additionally, NCSOFT used an AI-based facial animation technology to produce the character’s facial expression and lip-sync, making it even more lifelike. It’s exciting to see what NCSOFT has in store for us with Project M. We can’t wait to see more details in the future!
