Strayed Light Demo Out Now Ahead Of April Release Date
If you love the action RPG stylings of the From Software games, but would rather do more parrying than actually attacking things for some reason, developer Embers has you covered.
Strayed Lights is a new indie action game where you control a “light being” whose sole offense is his defense. He has the power to gather energy from foes by parrying their attacks, then unleash a killing wave of power once his parry meter fills up. However, he has to be the same colour as his enemy’s oncoming attack to gain said parrying energy; it’s a bit like the classic 2D shmup Ikaruga in a way.

Check out the light and rhythmic duels in action on this special The Mix Direct Spring 2023 Showcase trailer, complete with music by the game’s composer Austin Wintory (Flower, Journey, Skullgirls, etc.)
If that looks really cool to you, you can play the demo right now until 27 March. Strayed Light will be shining its way onto PC, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch this 25 April.
