CS:GO Skin Prices Rocket After Counter-Strike 2 Reveal
Valve’s recent announcement that Counter-Strike 2 is on its way has sent shockwaves through the gaming community. Instead of scrapping everything that made CS:GO work, Valve is creating Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) as a 2.0 version of the classic shooter.
CS2 will support all of the skins and customization options that players have enjoyed in CS:GO. This has resulted in a frenzy of skin case openings, with a whopping 39.5 million cases opened in March 2023 alone.
While some players are excited to use their unlocked skins in the new game, others are looking to sell them for a profit. The announcement of CS2 has caused skin prices to skyrocket, with rare skins and cases fetching top dollar.
CS:GO has been breaking records since the announcement of CS2, and it’s possible that this new game could kickstart Valve sequels for other franchises like Half-Life, Portal, and Team Fortress. It remains to be seen whether or not CS2 will live up to the hype, but we’ll find out this summer when it launches on PC.
