New Super Mario Bros. Movie Video Showcases Why Jack Black Is The Show’s MVP
Illumination has released a clip of the Super Mario Bros Movie that highlights Jack Black at his finest: voicing an evil turtle named Bowser with a groovy singing voice.
In this clip, he sings about how his character Bowser loves Princess Peach. If you know Jack Black’s Tenacious D style of singing, you know what you’re getting here: high-pitched comedic singing voice, comical lyrics, and a fun old-time for your ears. Who knew that the leader of the Koopa Kingdom could play piano so well with those giant hands and fingers?
Keep in mind that the first half of the song at 1:03 is a scene from the movie; the other half of the song consists of montages from the film. Check out the clip below to see how Illumination preserves this part of Mario lore; the one where a giant evil turtle wants to get it on with a human princess.
If that isn’t enough, how about hearing that song in three other languages: Italian, Spanish, and French?
The Super Mario Bros Movie is out right now in the US and parts of Asia. Malaysia will be screening the movie on 20th April. We’re blessed to be one of the first Malaysian gaming publications to review the movie ahead of time; check out our review here.
