The Taika Waititi Star Wars Movie Is Still In The Works

During Star Wars Celebration 2023 in London, Lucasfilm president and Star Wars boss Kathleen Kennedy has given an update on the long-gestating Star Wars movie by director Taika Waititi. The Taika Waititi Star Wars movie project was originally announced way back in 2020.

During an interview with Variety, Kennedy confirmed that Taika Waititi is still actively working on his Star Wars movie.

She said:

“Taika is still working away. He’s writing the script himself. He doesn’t really want to bring others into that process and I don’t blame him.

He has a very, very unique voice. So we want to protect that and that’s what he’s doing. But we’re going to make that one day.”

That being said, there are still no concrete details about the project (cast, title, etc.) so it will probably be a while before we get more information about Taika Waititi’s Star Wars movie.
