Concrete Genie Developer PixelOpus Shuts Down Next Month
Sony Interactive Entertainment is officially shutting down Concrete Genie developer PixelOpus on 2 June 2023.
In a statement, the company said:
“PlayStation Studios regularly evaluates its portfolio and the status of studio projects to ensure they meet the organization’s short and long-term strategic objectives. As part of a recent review process, it has been decided that PixelOpus will close on June 2.”
Dear friends, our PixelOpus adventure has come to an end. As we look to new futures, we wanted to say a heartfelt thank you to the millions of passionate players who have supported us, and our mission to make beautiful, imaginative games with heart.

PixelOpus originally opened in 2014 and has launched two games. The rhythm game Entwined launched for PS4 in June 2014, followed by PS3 and PS Vita in July 2014. Meanwhile, Concrete Genie launched for PS4 in October 2019.
