VTuber Fighting Game Idol Showdown Has 200k Downloads, 10k Players, & Overwhelming Steam Reviews
In a “no s***, Sherlock” moment in video games, a 2D fighting game with lush pixel art and features loveable VTubers duking it out has garnered critical acclaim within 24 hours of its release.
Idol Showdown, the new PC 2D fighting game from Besto Games, has been downloaded 200,000+ and has over 10,000 concurrent players at this point of writing, probably more as I’m still typing this quick story up. The game also has 1,985 overwhelmingly positive reviews ranging from meme quotes passing off as reviews to gems like:
“Suisex”
“It has roll back. It is free. It is already better than Tekken 7.”
“La-La-Lion~?
La-La-Lion~?”
“Human is Turtle
Turtle is Human
Turtle is Korone
Korone is Human
Human is Doggo
Doggo is Human”
Idol Showdown has also been updated frequently, with the latest patch adding playable character Botan’s new lines as requested by the VTuber herself.
