Moreover, a series of additional character packs and content drops are both coming and have been made available to purchase and/or download now.
To celebrate the news, there’s an on-going Twitch Drops campaign for fans to watch Twitch streamers play Dead Island 2 in order to unlock exclusive in-game items. The campaign is set to end on 9 July, and reportedly, those who watch the stream as little as 20 minutes will get a time-exclusive weapon.
Dead Island 2 Roadmap Expansions

The first expansion titled “Haus” is set to be available before the end of the year, while the second, SOLA Festival, will launch around the one-year anniversary of the base game. Both stories are included in the game’s $29.99 / £24.99 Expansion Pass. If you’ve purchased the expansion pass, you’ll already have access to this content when it drops, otherwise, it’ll be an additional purchase.
- Haus: “How does a billionaire prepare for the zompocalypse? A techno-death cult with a healthy splash of debauchery and gore!” The first story expansion is set to dropped in Q4, 2023.
- SOLA Festival: “Welcome to the SOLA festival, where LA’s party people can greenwash their way to ecstasy and save the planet, one rave at a time.” The second expansion is set to release in Q2, 2024.
Dead Island 2 was heralded as a monumental return to form for the zombie-slaying franchise that had sat almost abandoned for a decade. Having faced numerous setbacks in its development, once it was officially launched in May 2023, Dead Island 2 sales surpassed one million in its first 3 days, exceeding worldwide expectations.
