Diablo 4: The Best Nightmare Dungeons To Farm XP In (Solo & Group)

In Diablo 4, gaining levels is everything. Whether you’re killing mobs or doing Helltide quests, you’ll be grinding all the way to level 100 no doubt. Which is why the most consistent way to do so is to unlock Tier 3 in the game, which allows you to participate in Nightmare Dungeons.

Nightmare Dungeons are souped-up versions of regular dungeons; they include different modifiers that boosts your abilities and strengthen enemies, as well as yield more XP and loot. But not all Nightmare Dungeons are made equal; some are better at delivering the goods moreso than others.

Here’s a quick top 10 list of Nightmare Dungeons you can farm either solo or with groups (via Maxroll.gg).

The Top 10 Dungeons To Farm Solo

Aldurwood: One of the shortest and easiest dungeons to complete. Features the Offensive Aspect of Reanimation for Necromancers. Located in Scosglen, The Shrouded Moors. Monsters & bosses include Werewolves and the Den Mother.

Blind Burrows: A solid farming spot with quite a convoluted layout. Features the Offensive Aspect of the Tempest for the Druid. Located in Hawezar, Fethis Wetlands.
Monsters include tons of Spiders and Beasts.

Earthen Wound: A fast dungeon that’s great for XP farming. Houses the Utility Aspect of Singed Extremities for the Sorcerer. Located in Hawezar, Umir Plateau.  Monsters include Cannibals and Ghosts, with the Boss being Chief Marauder.

Guulrahn Canals: A fun dungeon with fast clear time for all. Houses the Trickster’s Offensive Aspect for Rogues. Located in Dry Steppes, Jakha Basin.  Monsters include Spiders and Zombies.

Onyx Hold: This one’s a fast dungeon that’s great for running your Nightmare Sigils. Contains the Storm Swell Offensive Aspect for Sorcerers. Located in Dry Steppes, The Onyx Watchtower. Monsters include Zombies and Ghosts.

Abandoned Mineworks: A dense dungeon that’s good for speed farming glyph experience, but XP farming’s good too. It’s just not as fast as the previous dungeons. Houses the Offensive Aspect of Retribution for all classes. Located in Kehjistan, Scouring Sand.  Features Spiders and Ghosts for monster types.

Champion’s Demise: A good dungeon to farm XP in. It houses the Resource Aspect of the Umbral. Located in Dry Steppes, Untamed Scraps.  The Monsters and Bosses in this dungeon are Goatmen, Spiders, and Khazra Abomination.

Crusader’s Cathedral: A pretty linear dungeon, with the first zone being pretty quick to explore and fight in. Houses the Stormshifter’s Utility Aspect for Druids. Located in Khejistan, Caldeum. Monsters include Knights and Skeletons, with the Boss being the Tomb Lord.

Cultist’s Refuge: A quick dungeon that is unlocked by completing the Nostrava Stronghold in Fractured Peaks. Features the Flamewalker’s Mobility Aspect for Sorcerers. Found in Fractured Peaks, Nostrava Stronghold.
Monsters include Cultists.

Demon’s Wake: While this dungeon has an annoying Slay All Enemies objective, it nonetheless is a better XP farming spot than the other Dungeons not on this list. Features the Defensive Aspect of Uncanny Treachery for Rogues. Located in Scosglen, Westering Lowlands.

The Top 10 Dungeons To Farm In Groups

Aldurwood: One of the shortest and easiest dungeons to complete; it’s better if your group splits up to cover more ground for the objectives. Features the Offensive Aspect of Reanimation for Necromancers. Located in Scosglen, The Shrouded Moors.
Monsters & bosses include Werewolves and the Den Mother.

Blind Burrows: A solid farming spot with quite a convoluted layout, meaning having your party split up to cover areas is a good strategy. Features the Offensive Aspect of the Tempest for the Druid. Located in Hawezar, Fethis Wetlands.
Monsters include tons of Spiders and Beasts.

Cultist Refuge: A quick dungeon that is unlocked by completing the Nostrava Stronghold in Fractured Peaks; better with friends who can cover more ground via splitting up. Features the Flamewalker’s Mobility Aspect for Sorcerers. Found in Fractured Peaks, Nostrava Stronghold. Monsters include Cultists.

Lost Archives: A dungeon filled with good loot; stock up your Sigils for this dungeon. Features the Defensive Aspect of the Protector for all classes. Located in Fractured Peaks, Desolate Highlands.
Monsters include Fallen and Ghosts, with the Boss being Spiritcaller of Frost.

Maulwood: A great dungeon to farm in. Features the Slaking Resource Aspect for Barbarians. Located in Fractured Peaks, Dobrev Taiga.
Monsters include Bandits and Werewolves.

Raethwind Wilds: A decent XP dungeon for groups. Features the Offensive Aspect of Inner Calm for all classes. Located in Scosglen, Wailing Hills.

Champion’s Demise: A good dungeon to farm XP in, but better with friends.

Demon’s Wake: While this dungeon has an annoying Slay All Enemies objective, it nonetheless is a better XP farming spot than the other Dungeons not on this list. Plus, with a big party, you can cover more ground. Features the Defensive Aspect of Uncanny Treachery for Rogues. Located in Scosglen, Westering Lowlands.

Guulrahn Canals: A fun dungeon with fast clear time for all. Houses the Trickster’s Offensive Aspect for Rogues. Located in Dry Steppes, Jakha Basin.
Monsters include Spiders and Zombies.
