Kakuchopurei & RTM Team Up For Main Game, A New Original Video Game Show For All

Malaysia-based video game publication Kakuchopurei is teaming up with long-running Malaysian public broadcaster Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM for short) to publicly air a brand new and revolutionary video series focused on the wide world of video games: Main Game.

Yes, you heard right. We are working alongside THE RTM; the one you’ve grown up with in Malaysia during your childhood and younger years.

Main Game is an all-new show that aims to educate and entertain viewers about video games, esports, gaming culture, and the games industry. The show will be focused on the incredibly popular hobby that is worth more than US$300 billion and has 2.9 billion players active worldwide.

Each episode will feature 3 segments talking about various evergreen topics in video games, ranging from competitive gaming history to interviews with game creators, like-minded experts, game changers, and professional players. We’ll even review a game or two, but in a way that’s more long-running and relevant even after its release months later. The show’s main host is RTM veteran news anchor & TV presenter Iffah Hazim, with co-hosting done by Kakuchopurei’s own esports writer Lewis Larcombe.

Main Game is a joint collaboration production between both brands who are enthusiastic about creating a streamlined show about the long-running and dense scene, as well as initiating the movement to create content for teenagers and young adults. Our expertise in creating video game content and features are a perfect match for RTM’s new content-creation vision and 59+ years of TV production knowledge & experience.

“With Main Game,” says Kakuchopurei CEO and Co-Founder Kenn Leandre, “we aim to produce a never-seen-before type of program which caters to and features deserving Malaysians equally. I grew up watching shows like Top Gear and always wanted to create something like that. Content which is equal parts educational and equal parts fun. Of course, we have lots to learn and improve, on but I am positive that we are on the right track.”

“Esports is highly popular with a huge number of interest and following,” says RTM’s Director General of Broadcasting Suhaimi Sulaiman. “As a broadcaster, RTM aims to deliver and share new and relevant information to our present and new audience. Main Game is the result of a great working relationship with Kakuchopurei who are experts in their field of video games and esports media.”

Main Game Season 1 will feature 13 episodes, with the first episode airing on Malaysia’s public TV channels on 1st July, 11am GMT+8. Check out the promo video below for a short glimpse at what’s to come.
