Wizards of the Coast have revealed details of its upcoming Magic: The Gathering set featuring the Lord of the Rings’ franchise, complete with iconic characters from the long-running fantasy series.

If you’re a Lord of The Rings fan looking to collect all the cards or a Magic: The Gathering fan trying out the new set, either way, there’s an experience here for you from this MTG Universes Beyond line! The world of Middle-Earth comes to life within the new vast array of new cards, painting legendary locations in a new light. This set also includes familiar favourites with a brand-new adventure for them to take there and back again, with valour, courage, and a second breakfast.

The new feature video below showcases the behind-the-scenes of the upcoming card game expansion, talking about how the elements of the book become part of the game. Also, Frodo’s actor Elijah Wood shows up in the video to cap off the feature because Hasbro has money somewhat.

Beautiful Showcase Ring Cards catch a glimpse of the story being told, as this new set takes you through many locations throughout the world of LOTR, from Misty Mountains to Mordor, every location and story is displayed in beautiful new art and portrayed by the all-new cards. The set also includes new mechanics to challenge your journey through Middle-Earth, including the power and corruption of the Ring, gathering food tokens for your journey and so much more for you to learn! This new set releases on 23rd June, with prerelease events beginning on 16th June. Preorders are available for the Starter Kit, Jumpstart Boosters/Display and Commander Decks, on the official Magic: The Gathering website.
