Mortal Kombat 1 Online Stress Test Confirmed This June; Open For Registration

Warner Bros. Games has confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 is preparing to try out one of the first online stress tests next week.

The Online Stress Test will support 1 vs. 1 online multiplayer and a limited single-player Klassic Towers mode against AI opponents. According to the website, the Online Stress Test is not a Beta. The purpose of it is to deliberately stress their online infrastructure and identify potential issues ahead of the game’s release. Furthermore, it is unrelated to the Mortal Kombat 1 Pre-Order Beta, dropped in August 2023.

Mortal Kombat 1’s first Online Stress Test will take place on 23 June at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST / 5pm CEST / 11pm MYT. It will end on the same time on 26 June 2023. The session will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S only. Unfortunately, Nintendo Switch and PC platforms will not be included in this Online Stress Test.

Players are still able to register for a chance to participate, and random invites will be distributed to selected players on 21 June. The Mortal Kombat Support website states that registrations are only eligible for players based in North America, Latin America, Brazil and Europe.

Luckily, we can still watch the Online Stress Test action as those with access are allowed to stream and create video content. On the other hand, players who pre-order the game for PS5 or Xbox Series X/S will receive access to the beta test, taking place this August.

Announced last month and set for release on 19 September, Mortal Kombat 1 is a reboot of the Mortal Kombat franchise. It ushers in a new era with improved fighting system, game modes, and fatalities that are just too good to be true.
