Mortal Kombat 1 Announced, Coming This September

Warner Bros. Games and NetherRealm Studios have officially announced Mortal Kombat 1.

Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest title in the acclaimed Mortal Kombat videogame franchise developed by award-winning NetherRealm Studios. The game will introduce a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe that has been created by the Fire God Liu Kang, featuring reimagined versions of iconic characters as they’ve never been seen before, along with a new fighting system, game modes, bone krushing finishing moves, and more.

Mortal Kombat 1 will feature reimagined fighters as they’ve never been seen before, including Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kung Lao, Kitana, Mileena, Shang Tsung, Johnny Cage, and many others. Some rivals and sworn enemies from the original are now teaming up. In fact, MK1 introduces Kameo Fighters, which is the equivalent of tag assists where you can summon a pal to do an assist to help you, be it a buff or an attack, or even continue a combo.

Mortal Kombat 1 is slated to release for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC on 19 September 2023. Check out the trailer below:
