Rose & Camellia Collection Slapped For Western Release To Nintendo Switch
Wayforward recently announced during the Limited Run Games 2023 showcase that an extensive collection of “elite slapfest” titles, Rose & Camellia Collection is heading soon to the Nintendo Switch platform.

Rose & Camellia Collection is a remake of a 2007 flash game from developer NIGORO. Players follow the story of Reiko Tsubakikoji, who attempts to climb up the hierarchy ladder by slapping other female foes. In an overview, it’s a fighting game where you slap your enemies in a cliche telenovela themed-series.
Players can either use innovative Joy-Con motion controls or touch-screen swipes, giving a good smack to adversaries. Aside from slapping, the game also includes “defence” mechanics such as dodging, feinting, and countering until only one heiress is left standing. The new collection consists of five games in Nigoro’s series: the first two original entries, two brand-new titles, and a crossover game.
The five following titles are:
- Rose & Camellia
- Rose & Camellia 2
- Rose & Camellia 3
- Rose & Camellia 4
- Rose & Camellia vs. La-Mulana

Players can expect over 30 characters and full English voice-overs with several subtitle language options. Moreover, it comes with a classic anime-style intro and two new songs by frequent WayForward collaborator Cristina “Vee” Valenzuela. Players get to play solo or with friends in a new competitive two-player local versus mode, where one controls a heroine and the other play as a villain.
For those interested, the digital edition will be published by WayForward at the Nintendo eShop, in North America and Europe in late 2023 or early 2024. The physical edition, however, will be sold through Limited Run Games at a later date.
Rose & Camellia Collection is slated to launch for the Nintendo Switch in either late 2023 or early 2024.
