Actress Jamie Lee Curtis Aspires To Join Netflix’s One Piece Season 2

Jamie Lee Curtis, the renowned American actress, has recently expressed her aspirations to join the cast of Netflix’s second season of “One Piece”. Curtis, known for her versatile acting skills and captivating performances, has been making waves in the entertainment industry for decades. Now, with the opportunity to be a part of one of the most popular anime adaptations, Curtis aims to showcase her talent in a whole new light.

According to Netflix, the One Piece live adaptation has garnered over 37.8 million views in less than two weeks since it premiered on the streaming service. With the conclusion of the successful first season of the live adaptation of One Piece, the series might have already found its first new cast member for the upcoming second season. Hollywood star Jaime Lee Curtis is eager to be a part of the action. Taking to her Instagram account, Curtis joined an ongoing fan campaign, expressing her interest in playing the eccentric Doctor Kureha in the show’s second season.

“ONCE the STRIKE against the greed of the AMTPT is SETTLED with a FAIR CONTRACT, I will lobby along with the growing fan frenzy to become Doctor Kureha in @onepiecenetflix” Kurtis captioned the post, which consisted of fanart and two other images highlighting the fan movement.

The Instagram post received significant attention, capturing various individuals’ interest, including co-showrunner Owens. In response to the post, Owens left a comment stating, “Mommy dearest, that’s why we sent you that figure! No need to lobby. Once we get what we deserve and get back to work let’s talk!” which sparked further excitement for the forthcoming season of Netflix’s One Piece.

There is a solid chance that this public exchange will lead to a future official announcement. The actress recently uploaded a 2022 interview clip where she disclosed that her daughter had encouraged her to pursue the role of Doctor Kureha. This revelation adds further weight to the possibility of an official announcement in the near future.

While things look promising for Netflix’s One Piece live-action adaptation, the SAG-AFTRA strike poses a significant hurdle to its progress. This strike has resulted in actors being kept away from sets until an agreement can be reached. Until then, fans will have to hold their breath and remain hopeful for the best.

One Piece Season 1 is currently available to watch on Netflix.
