Sega Has Cancelled Its Upcoming Shooter Hyenas

Hero shooters come and go, or even sputter before early access unless they’re Overwatch (2016 version). Such is the case of Sega’s upcoming title.

In a recent Sega Sammy investor press release, the company has cancelled its upcoming multiplayer extraction shooter Hyenas as part of structural reforms around its European base. Here’s a quote from the press release:

“In response to the lower profitability of the European region, we have reviewed the title portfolio of each development base in Europe & the resulting action will be to cancel “HYENAS” & some unannounced titles under development.”

If you need a reminder on what Hyenas is, check out the gameplay trailer below. Yeah, we don’t know what this game is apart from it being a live service lootbox-filled shooter from a big-name company, farmed by a company who is known for anything but first-person multiplayer shooters.
