Ubisoft is calling Assassin’s Creed Mirage their biggest hit for next-gen consoles in terms of sales. This game dropped on 5 October for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and PC, and there’s even an iPhone 15 Pro version in the works for early 2024.
Thank you all for joining us on Basim's journey in 9th Century Baghdad!

In their announcement on Wednesday, Ubisoft mentioned, “With the number of players being in line with past successful launches such as Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, we are humbled by the positive reception. We are proud to also share that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is the biggest New Gen launch in terms of unit sales to date at Ubisoft (PS5, Xbox Series X | S).”
Mirage’s development was led by the Ubisoft Bordeaux team, the folks who brought us Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Wrath of the Druids expansion.
This game is being hyped up as a love letter to the original Assassin’s Creed, focusing on parkour, stealth, and assassinations. It’s a throwback to the action-adventure style of the series before it took a turn toward the more expansive RPG-style gameplay in entries like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.
In the first week of the game’s release, Ubisoft reported that players collectively spent a whopping 479 years leaping across Baghdad’s rooftops and took an impressive 60 million Leaps of Faith. Now, that’s some serious gaming dedication!
