Publisher and developer Nayuto Studio has announced its anticipated Japanese first-person horror adventure game titled, “Hollow Cocoon”. This thrilling game offers players a unique and immersive experience with its captivating storyline set in 1980s Japan.
Players play the role of Minato Jinba, a college student who returns home to his mother’s hometown after learning that his grandmother is critically ill. Throughout his journey, Minato encounters his past, harbouring deep resentment towards his grandmother for not attending her own daughter’s funeral. During the game, players face a terrifying journey through a haunted house in Ichinose, where Minato must hide from a lurking monster and uncover vital evidence to uncover the bone-chilling truth lurking beneath the surface.
One of the highlights of Hollow Cocoon is the promise of multiple endings, allowing players to shape their narrative and make impactful decisions throughout the game. Additionally, the game offers three difficulty levels catering to players of different skill levels. During gameplay, players even have the option to choose a lower difficulty level, but the difficulty cannot be raised mid-game.
To enhance player convenience, Hollow Cocoon also features an auto-saving mode, allowing players to seamlessly progress through the game without worrying about manually saving their progress.
Hollow Cocoon is set for release on 7 December 2023 for PC. Meanwhile, you can try the Steam demo if you want to experience the horror early.
