The Legend Of Zelda Live-Action Movie Is Officially Announced, Avi Arad To Produce
Nintendo has announced that a live-action Legend Of Zelda movie is in the works.
The upcoming movie will be produced by Arad Productions chairman Avi Arad, with many people on Twitter listing his accomplishments to validate that the movie will be in good hands.
The movie will be directed by Wes Ball (the Maze Runner series) and will be co-financed by Nintendo and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Nintendo will finance 50% of the film. Sony Pictures Entertainment will handle the film’s theatrical distribution. Here are a few words from Nintendo producer Shigeru Miyamoto:
“This is Miyamoto. I have been working on the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda for many years now with Avi Arad-san, who has produced many mega-hit films.
I have asked Avi-san to produce this film with me, and we have now officially started the development of the film with Nintendo itself heavily involved in the production. It will take time until its completion, but I hope you look forward to seeing it.”
