Toki Plans To Be The First Social Commerce Platform For Collectibles In The Philippines
Have you ever wanted an online auction and social app that’s like Carousell, but strictly for collectibles and geek toys? Wonder no more as that’s going to be a reality!
Four former GCash executives and passionate collectors have brought together their extensive experience in technology to build Toki, a marketplace dedicated to collectables in the Philippines. Aiming to create seamless, simple, and secure transactions, Toki is the first of its kind in the country.
With The Philippines collectable market valued at US$5 billion, Toki plans to capitalize on this while also offering secure and less-convoluted trading procedures and systems. The marketplace currently has four categories at launch: sneakers, LEGO, NBA Cards, and Funko Pops. Here are some words from co-founder Zoe Ocampo.
“We at the Toki team are all passionate collectors ourselves. For so long, the process of searching for collectibles and purchasing an item hasn’t been ideal. Usually, we start the journey with social networks or messaging applications, and from there, one has to sift through at least 10 different sellers, unsure of the credibility and authenticity of their products. It has been consistently tedious and filled with unnecessary friction.”
You can start using Toki right now via the website.
