Cygames Announces Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond for PC, iOS, and Android
During the “Shadowverse NEXT 2024” stream which was held on the 10th of December, Cygames announced their new reboot of their original Shadowverse digital card game which was released in 2016. Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond is a competitive online collectable card game which builds upon the original Shadowverse including new mechanics such as the “Super Evolution”. The new title is set to be released in the summer of 2024 and a teaser video and visuals have already been revealed.
Shadowverse gameplay consists of making card decks and competing 1 on 1 against the CPU or other players. In the original title, it had over 4000 beautifully illustrated cards. As of March 2023, the game topped 30 million downloads and has also been adapted into an anime TV series as well as a physical card game.
The upcoming reboot, Shadowverse: Worlds Beyond will have some new gameplay features while retaining the basic rules related to deck building and card types. Super Evolution, one of the newer mechanics revealed, can be performed from the second player’s 6th turn/first player’s 7th turn onwards. With Super Evolution, up to 2 of the player’s remaining EP will be turned into SEP (super evolution points), which can be used to super-evolve a follower. Super-Evolve Abilities also activate when a follower super-evolves. Evolve abilities will also trigger.
There will also be changes to card classes. The original Shadowverse had 9 different classes including Neutral, Worlds Beyond will have only 8 classes, combining the Shadowcraft and Bloodcraft classes into the new “Abysscraft” class.

Players will be able to move around freely in-game using their own custom-made avatars.
Players will be able to interact and battle with each other, participate in events, and enjoy a variety of other content.

The Shadowverse World Championship is a new international tournament where the champion will receive 10 million yen and a special Shadowverse: Evolve card. The tournament is scheduled for early 2025.
