Square Enix and developer Aiming have announced that the global version of the free-to-play strategy RPG mobile game Dragon Quest Tact will end service on 29 February 2024 at 4 pm GMT+8.

Dragon Quest Tact was originally launched for iOS and Android on 16 July 2020 in Japan and on 27 January 2021 worldwide.

The full statement reads:

Thank you for playing Dragon Quest Tact.

We regret to announce we have made the difficult decision to discontinue the Dragon Quest Tact app service as of 0:00 on February 29, 2024 (PST).

From the Dragon Quest Tact Production Team, we apologize for the abrupt announcement but are sincerely grateful for the support we’ve received from our players.

Since Dragon Quest Tact‘s launch on January 27, 2021, we’ve strived to provide an incredible and enjoyable gaming experience for our players every day that could exceed the day before. However, we’ve come to the conclusion that it would be difficult to continue maintaining the app experience, therefore we are ending the app service.

As we approach the end of app service, please be aware of the following.

Although we only have a short time left until service ends on February 29, 2024, we hope you will continue to enjoy playing Dragon Quest Tact until the final day.

In the meantime, we’re still waiting for an update on the mainline title, Dragon Quest XII The Flames Of Fate, which was originally announced in 2021 but there’s been no significant updates ever since.
