Netflix’s Blue Eye Samurai Renewed For Season 2

Netflix has confirmed that the highly anticipated second season of Blue Eye Samurai is getting Season 2. The popular animated series, which made its debut just last month, received confirmation of its renewal in an announcement trailer.
The 43-second trailer provides a glimpse into what fans can expect from the upcoming season. A joint statement from co-creators Amber Noizumi and Michael Green shares a heartfelt message:
“When we started this project, we made a commitment to take this very personal story set in Edo-period Japan and bring it to life in the most authentic and beautiful way possible. Our animators, historians, musicians, martial artists, and voice cast made this a reality beyond our expectations.
“We are thankful to our entire team and to our viewers from all over the world who have shown such passion for Mizu and her path of revenge. Mizu has a lot more blood to spill! We are deeply grateful to our incredible partners at Netflix for letting the journey continue.”
Green and Noizumi had already planned another season even before Season 2 was announced. They were optimistic and hoping “enough people turn out that we get to make it,” Green said. Although there is yet no release date or details regarding the next season, fans can rest assured that additional details will be unveiled at a later date.
The Blue Eye Samurai premiered on Netflix on 3 November 2023. This anime series is set in Japan’s Edo period and follows the story of Mizu, a skilled swordswoman who is half-Japanese and half-white, as she embarks on a quest for retribution.
The first season is now available on Netflix.
