New Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Trailer Teases Aerith’s Eventual Fate & Showcases A New Song

Square Enix revealed more new gameplay and one of the game’s most iconic and depressing scenes in JRPG history via a new Final Fantasy VII Rebirth trailer.

The new trailer is accompanied by a live performance of the game’s new song “No Promises To Keep” performed by Lorne Balfe and the Game Awards orchestra on-stage. The new trailer also shows off the following:

  • Golden Saucer date results and new scenes like Aerith singing and Yuffie dancing.
  • Our first look at Cid, the swearing engineer.
  • Our first proper look at Vincent Valentine, the edgelord of the game.
  • Aerith praying and black feathers coming down, which heralds a pivotal scene in the original Final Fantasy VII title.
