Disney has announced that the 20th Century Studios film, The Creator is set to launch on Disney Plus Hotstar Malaysia next week. This sci-fi action thriller has already made its theatrical debut on 29 September 2023. Since its premiere, the film has received positive reviews from both critics and fans.

In a future world where a war rages between humanity and artificial intelligence, the film follows Joshua, portrayed by John David Washington. A former special forces agent, Joshua is consumed by grief and seeks vengeance for the loss of his wife (Gemma Chan). Tasked with hunting down and eliminating the enigmatic Creator, the elusive mastermind behind the advancement of AI, Joshua finds himself on a deadly mission to prevent the emergence of a mysterious weapon capable of decimating both war and humanity itself.

Joshua and his highly skilled team of operatives embarked on a perilous mission, traversing treacherous terrain, as they ventured into hostile territory controlled by AI. Their objective was to locate and dismantle the devastating weapon they had been tasked with destroying. However, they discovered that the supposed world-ending weapon had materialized in the form of a young child, starring Yuna Voyles.

In our review, we said, “The Creator is an original sci-fi movie that’s worth watching at the cinemas for its world-building and spectacle. It’s rare that we can get an original sci-fi movie that’s decent with all the production value of something like The Creator. Gareth Edwards is a director with the potential for more worthwhile sci-fi movies down the line.” Check out the full review here.
