Borderlands Movie Gives First Look At Cate Blanchett As Lilith & Other Characters

The Borderlands movie was announced all the way back in 2020, but now four years later, we’ve finally gotten our first look at what the characters look like in live-action. Thanks to People magazine, we get our first look at Cate Blanchett as Lilith and more.
Cate Blanchett sports a striking red hairstyle and a combat-ready look as infamous outlaw Lilith. The mysterious fugitive makes a homecoming to her planet Pandora in order to search for the missing daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramírez).
Lilith teams up with a band of outcasts that includes former soldier Roland (Kevin Hart), pre-teen demolitionist Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), Tina’s bodyguard Krieg (Florian Munteanu), scientist Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis) and robot Claptrap (Jack Black).
In the movie, Lilith (Cate Blanchett), is an infamous treasure hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of Atlas (Edgar Ramirez), the universe’s most powerful S.O.B. She forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits – Roland (Kevin Hart), once a highly respected soldier, but now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), the scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap (Jack Black), a persistently wiseass robot. These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other.
The movie is being made with Media Capital Technologies, an Arad / Picturestart production, as well as a Gearbox Studios and 2K Interactive production.
The movie’s script is written by Emmy-winning screenwriter Craig Mazin, who is also the showrunner of the upcoming HBO’s The Last Of Us TV series. However, it was recently reported that he would be removing his name from the project.
