Helldivers 2 Players Can Gain Extra XP This Weekend

Developer Arrowhead Game Studios has announced that Helldivers 2 players will be able to gain 50 percent more EXP this weekend as an apology from them while they’re working to fix bugs and issues in the game.

It will last until Sunday, 18 February (CET) (which is Monday morning in Southeast Asian countries).

The Twitter post reads:

“We’re aware of a problem that has caused some player rewards to not pay out properly at the end of missions,” the statement reads. “We are working on a fix for this, but in the meantime, we want to try to alleviate the impact as we head into the weekend. Therefore, from now until the end of this Sunday, February 18th (CET), the game will grant all players XP and Requisition at a 50% multiplier on top of your base mission score.”

How do you know if you’re gaining the extra XP in Helldivers 2?

You will see a Game Master Effect named ‘Accounting Corrections’ on the hub ship.

Helldivers 2 only launched for the PS5 and PC via Steam on 8 February 2024, but it has already broken records for PlayStation games on PC. At the time of writing, Helldivers 2 reached a whopping 276,364 all-time peak of players on Steam (via SteamDB), which has surpassed God Of War’s 73,529 highest peak. It has unexpectedly become PlayStation’s biggest game launch yet on PC.

That’s interesting, considering that it’s one of the few, or the only one so far, to come out on both PS5 and PC on the same day. Previous PlayStation PC launches have been staggered, where they launched on PS consoles first and only on PC years later.

Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by PlayStation, Helldivers 2 is a third-person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person-camera view.

Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses.
