Disney+ Hotstar has finally announced the new Star Wars live-action series, The Acolyte, will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on 4 June 2024. This is pretty accurate to the previously leaked release date in February 2024.

The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg (Bodies Bodies Bodies), Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game), Manny Jacinto (Nine Perfect Strangers), Dafne Keen (Logan), Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim), Rebecca Henderson (Inventing Anna), Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll), Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), and Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix).

The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era. A former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes, but the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated. The High Republic saw the Jedi Order at its prime, centuries prior to the events of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. Alongside The Acolyte, Andor Season 2 is also set to premiere sometime in 2024. The latest Star Wars IP to be released in 2024 is Star Wars The Bad Batch Season 3, which premiered on 21 February 2024 and is still releasing new episodes weekly.
