Netflix Confirm The Witcher Series For Fifth & Final Season
By Lewis "lickety" Larcombe|April 19, 2024|0 Comment
Netflix has revealed that its wildly popular The Witcher series will indeed receive a fifth season, but fans should brace themselves as it will mark the final chapter in the saga. The news comes as the show’s fourth season gears up for production in the UK, with a notable change in the lead role of Geralt.
Replacing the beloved Henry Cavill, Liam Hemsworth steps into the shoes of the iconic monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia. Hemsworth’s tenure as Geralt will extend into the show’s concluding season, set to be filmed in tandem with Season 4 before bidding farewell to viewers.

Excitement brews among fans as Netflix confirms that Seasons 4 and 5 will adapt the final three books in Andrzej Sapkowski’s acclaimed series: “Baptism of Fire,” “The Tower of the Swallow,” and “Lady of the Lake.”
Creator and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich expressed her pride in embarking on the penultimate season, highlighting Hemsworth’s leadership in a statement: “It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia.”

The torch-passing moment from Cavill to Hemsworth occurred back in October 2022, where Cavill bid farewell to the role that brought him immense acclaim: “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr. Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.”
With anticipation building for the series’ epic conclusion, Hissrich hinted at the journey ahead for our beloved characters: “It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit – stay tuned to see how the story ends.”
As fans eagerly await the release of Season 4 and the eventual conclusion in Season 5, the legacy of “The Witcher” series continues to captivate audiences worldwide, promising a fitting end to an unforgettable saga.
