A Just Cause Movie Is In The Works By Blue Beetle Director
According to The Hollywood Reporter, a Just Cause movie is in the works at Universal Pictures with Blue Beetle director Angel Manuel Soto set to helm the project.
Kelly McCormick and David Leitch, the producing duo behind The Fall Guy and Nobody, will produce the Just Cause movie via their 87North banner. Other involved producers include Dmitri M. Johnson, Mike Goldberg and Timothy I. Stevenson of Story Kitchen, who are notable for already being involved with the video game adaptations of Tomb Raider and Sonic The Hedgehog.
Developed by Avalanche and published by Square Enix, the Just Cause franchise began in 2006, with its latest entry back in 2018 with Just Cause 4 (check out my review here). In the Just Cause franchise, players assume the role of Rico Rodriguez, a gun-toting mercenary who uses parachutes and a wrist-mounted grappling hook to get around. The games are known for their open-world and sandbox gameplay, as well as action setpieces.
In the meantime, you can also head on over here for my review of the Blue Beetle movie, which was directed by Angel Manuel Soto.
