New Godzilla X Kong Movie In The Works With Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse Writer Attached

A sequel to Godzilla X Kong The New Empire is in the works, and the script is being written by Dave Callaham (via The Hollywood Reporter). It will be the sixth movie in the MonsterVerse cinematic franchise which began with 2014’s Godzilla.

Dave Callaham is best known for co-writing 2014’s Godzilla, 2021’s Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings, and 2023’s Spider-Man Across The Spider-Verse.

It’s no surprise, considering that Godzilla X Kong The New Empire has grossed close to US$555 million worldwide and that’s after garnering a whopping US$194 million in its opening weekend box office, which is the biggest one yet in 2024 so far.

Godzilla X Kong The New Empire is directed by Adam Wingard. It stars Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Dan Stevens, Kaylee Hottle, Alex Ferns and Fala Chen.
