Angry Birds Movie 3 is Officially in Production; Original Cast Members Return
The Angry Birds Movie 3 is in the works. Rovio Entertainment, creators of the Angry Birds franchise, is producing the third installment of the hit animated films in collaboration with SEGA and Prime Focus Studios.
Returning to lend their voices to the beloved characters, Jason Sudeikis will once again play the fiery Red, while Josh Gad will bring the speedy Chuck to life. The directorial reins for this installment are in the hands of John Rice, known for his work on The Angry Birds Movie 2 and Beavis and Butt-Head Do the Universe.
Thurop Van Orman penned the script, bringing experience from The Angry Birds Movie 2, Adventure Time, and The Misadventures of Flapjack. DNEG Animation will be tasked with animating the film, marking a shift from the previous collaborations between Rovio and Sony. Prime Focus Studios, having co-produced The Garfield Movie, will serve as a producer.
While the latest press release remains tight-lipped about the storyline and when the movie will be released, the collaboration with SEGA, who acquired Rovio last year, has sparked curiosity among fans. Given the financial success of the first two films, which collectively amassed $500 million globally, anticipation for the third installment is high.
