Batman: Caped Crusader Unveils the Voices of Dark Knight, Harley Quinn, and More

Prime Video has unveiled the cast that will be voicing the anticipated animated Batman series, Batman: Caped Crusader.

The Batman: Caped Crusader teaser video features the next actor to voice Batman—Hamish Linklater, best known for leading television series like Netflix’s Midnight Mass. Alongside Batman, there will be Catwoman, voiced by Christina Ricci, Jamie Chung as Harley Quinn, and Diedrich Bader as Two-Face. The ensemble cast also includes Mckenna Grace, Reid Scott, Dane Donohue, Gary Anthony Williams, Jason Watkins, John Dimaggio, Krystal Joy Brown, Michelle C. Bonilla, Eric Morgan Stuart, Tom Kenny, Minnie Driver, and Diedrich Bader.

The series is a reimagining of the Batman mythology that includes executive producers J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, and Bruce Timm. Reeves directed Robert Pattinson in The Batman movie, and Timm is the co-creator of Batman: The Animated Series.

Set in the crime-ridden Gotham City, the series explores a world where the corrupt far outnumber the law-abiding citizens. The city’s inhabitants live in a constant state of fear, constantly under threat from criminal organizations. This dark and gritty environment serves as the catalyst for Bruce Wayne’s transformation into Batman.

Driven by tragedy, the wealthy socialite becomes something both more and less than human. His one-man crusade for justice serves as a means to fight against the city’s criminal underbelly and attracts unexpected allies within the Gotham City Police Department and City Hall. However, his heroic actions have unforeseen consequences, leading to dangerous and deadly situations.

Batman: Caped Crusader will premiere on 1 August 2024 on Amazon Prime Video. The animated series will release all 10 episodes of the first season.
