Riot Games Confirm VALORANT For Console With Beta Beginning Next Week

After years of anticipation and speculation, Riot Games has officially confirmed that VALORANT is making its way to consoles this year. Announced during Summer Game Fest, the game will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X | S.

Console players can expect a tailored experience with “custom-built gameplay,” though crossplay with PC won’t be available for competitive play. However, cross-progression will be supported, allowing players to carry over their skins and progression between platforms.

Production Director Arnar Hrafn Gylfason underscored the team’s commitment to delivering a top-tier gaming experience across all platforms.

“When exploring whether to bring VALORANT to additional platforms, we knew we had to be able to offer the same uncompromising, competitive experience that we’ve provided to PC players for years. We hope we nailed it, but ultimately, our players will have the final say.”

A limited beta is set to kick off on 14 June in the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, Europe and Japan, with others to follow shortly after. Players can sign up for the beta now on the official VALORANT website.

While console players rejoice, there’s still anticipation surrounding VALORANT’s mobile version, announced in 2021, with updates scarce since then.
