Details of New Aliens Game Leaked Ahead of Official Reveal
Recently, leaked documents have surfaced online, seemingly containing information about an unannounced game, Aliens Fireteam Elite 2. Referred to internally as Project Macondo, this game is set to be a sequel to Aliens Fireteam Elite and will introduce new gameplay modes, including Annihilation, a spin on the popular Horde Modes found in other shooting games.
According to the leaked documents, the game’s campaign is aiming for a minimum of 10 missions and 8 hours of gameplay, with an ideal of 13 missions and 12 hours. Plus, the game is expected to launch with 13 weapons and 9 enemy types. There is some uncertainty surrounding Annihilation Mode, as there may be only one arena initially, with the potential for 4-6 arenas.
Unlike its predecessor, this game will feature fixed preset character archetypes and non-customizable characters. The game will not feature micro-transactions, loot boxes, and gacha mechanics. What’s more, in-game voice chat is excluded for this sequel, with players suggested to use console voice chat applications instead.
The anticipated release of Project Macondo is set for Q3 of 2025, likely between July and September. The game will be available for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, and it is expected to carry an “M” rating.
In 2021, Aliens Fireteam Elite was released after being developed by Cold Iron Studios. The game allows players to take the role of Colonial Marines as they respond to a distress call from the colony LV-895. Once they arrive, they must confront waves of Xenomorphs aliens.
While the accuracy of this leak remains to be seen, fans of the franchise are curious to see if these details will hold true.
