Spy Drops is a Retro Stealth Action Game for PC & Switch
Rainy Frog and Rainy Night Creations have announced their upcoming new IP, which draws heavy inspiration from Metal Gear Solid and Syphon Filter. Titled Spy Drops, the game promises to feature modern effects such as lighting and shadows, modern weapons, and a local multiplayer option.

In Spy Drops, players will assume the role of a member of the Spy Drops team, a counter-terrorist dispatch tasked with preventing an “eco-terrorist organization” from plunging the world into digital darkness. Their mission is to prevent the organization from “wiping out all digital records and sending the world back to the stone age.” Things get even more challenging as the titular character starts to question the missions they are assigned and delves deeper into the conspiracy surrounding the organization.
The announcement trailer shows glimpses of the gameplay and offers players an idea of what to expect. Set in the modern day with cyberpunk aesthetics, the 3D stealth-action game emphasises players to remain undetected and use non-lethal methods to deal with enemies in order to collect intel.
Unlike Metal Gear, however, Spy Drops’ levels are randomly generated, meaning each playthrough experience will differ. The graphics implemented are low polygon 3D, giving the experience of the late 90s stealth classics.
To complete the mission, you will have access to various gadgets, including drones, night vision goggles, mine detectors, and more. Players will have the flexibility to approach each mission in a variety of ways.
Although no release date yet, Spy Drops is scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam.
