Capcom Announces ANOTHER Fighting Collection, This Time With Rival Schools, Power Stone, And Its SNK Collab
Capcom’s going to release a new fighting game collection to remember.
The company that made Street Fighter has announced a Capcom Fighting Collection 2, this time focusing on much-requested arcade and Dreamcast gems. These include:
- Capcom VS SNK and Capcom VS SNK 2, the first time Capcom teamed up with SNK to make a ratio-system 2D fighting game featuring SNK fighters like Terry Bogard, Kyo Kusanagi, Mai Shiranui, and more!
- Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER, the PSP port of SF3 Alpha that featured characters like Maki, Yun, Eagle, and Ingrid.
- Project Justice, the sequel to Rival Schools which is a 3D fighting game with students and teachers tossing projectiles and powered-up uppercuts. Also, your headmaster is a half-beastman.
- Power Stone and Power Stone 2, a 3D four-player fighting game arena brawler where you collect gems to become super saiyan warriors. Part 2 is the superior one, with better maps and levels, and a bigger roster.
- Plasma Sword: Nightmare of Bilstein, Capcom’s 3D fighting game where space fighters use swords to beat up each other.
- Capcom Fighting Evolution, a mess of a 2D fighting game that mashes Street Fighter folks against Darkstalkers and Red Earth fighters. Added here more for a footnote in history than anything.
The collection features an art gallery, a music player, loads of design documents and cabinet artwork, EX settings like unlocking secret characters at the start, a training mode for each game, save states, and rollback netcode for its online play. So you don’t have to illegally play these games anymore. While I wish Rival Schools (Project Justice’s prequel) and its RPG mode came back in this collection, I’m just happy we’re getting yet another collection to complement the Marvel VS collection.
Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will be out for PC, Nintendo Switch, and PS4 in 2025.
