Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns Shows Off More Cyrax Gameplay, Featuring Bombs & Green Tech Nonsense
NetherRealms Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive have shown off new gameplay for one of its new kharacters, Cyrax.
Back in the 90s, Cyrax made their debut in Mortal Kombat 3 in the arcades. In MK1, they’re now turned into a black female ninja wearing a Lin Kuei high-tech power armour. The gameplay below shows off Cyrax’s trademark bombs where she can lay them down like traps and juggle opponents. She also can teleport, use Sub Zero’s ice powers, and shoot out a green net that carries opponents straight to the corner; a bad spot to be at in a 2D fighting game.
Capping off the trailer is Cyrax’s teased Fatality which involves using her opponent’s head as a football. The trailer also teased her Animality (a MK3 staple) where she transforms into a hornet. Because when I think Rule 63’ed yellow robot ninja, I think “hornet”.
Mortal Kombat 1: Khaos Reigns expansion will be out on 24 September for PC and consoles. The DLC will feature new story chapters and Kombat Pack 2 which contains Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface from Scream, T-1000 from the Terminator series, and Conan the Barbarian. Pre-order the DLC right now to get the following skins:
- Wedding Scorpion
- Ultimate MK3 Sub-Zero
- Empress Mileena
- Ultimate MK3 Noob Saibot
