VALORANT Champions 2024 – Day 11: Sentinels & EDward Gaming Dominate Playoffs

The VALORANT Champions 2024 Playoffs kicked off in Seoul, Korea, with thrilling matches that set the tone for the intense battles ahead. Day 10 saw Sentinels and EDward Gaming (EDG) secure dominant victories, sending DRX and Trace Esports to the lower bracket. The road to the finals promises more excitement as these top teams clash in the upper bracket semifinals.
Map 1: Sunset – The match between Sentinels and DRX began on Sunset, with Sentinels showing early dominance on the offensive side. DRX fought back, ending the first half in a 6-6 tie. As the second half unfolded, DRX gained the upper hand, reaching match point at 12-11. However, Sentinels pulled off a miraculous comeback, winning 14-13 in a dramatic overtime after being down 3v5 in DRX’s match point round.
Map 2: Haven – On Haven, DRX started strong on the offensive side, but Sentinels made crucial adjustments to shift the momentum in their favor. The first half ended in another 6-6 tie, but Sentinels took control in the second half, winning the map 13-8. This victory secured Sentinels’ spot in the upper bracket semifinals.
Map 1: Bind – EDward Gaming dominated from the start on Bind, taking a commanding 10-2 lead in the first half. Despite Trace Esports’ efforts to stage a comeback, EDG closed out the map 13-7, with Yongkang “ZmjjKK” Zheng delivering a standout performance.
Map 2: Sunset – The second map, Sunset, saw EDG continue their strong performance, quickly establishing a 10-2 lead in the first half. Trace Esports showed resilience with a 7-1 run led by Zhinan “Kai” Lu, but EDG maintained their composure to win 13-10, securing their place in the upper bracket semifinals.
Day 11 of VALORANT Champions 2024 set the stage for exciting playoff matchups, with Sentinels and EDward Gaming advancing to the upper bracket semifinals on Saturday, 17 August. Meanwhile, DRX and Trace Esports face elimination in the lower bracket quarterfinals on Friday, 16 August. As the tournament progresses, the stakes continue to rise, leaving fans eagerly anticipating who will emerge as the world champion.
