Alan Wake 2’s Anniversary Update Sees Must-Needed Features Incoming
Remedy is set to roll out a highly anticipated Alan Wake 2 Anniversary Update this Tuesday, 22 October. The update will drop alongside the game’s physical edition and its second DLC expansion, The Lake House.

This free update brings several fan-requested improvements. One key feature is the ability to invert the X-axis (horizontal) for both mouse and controller, finally matching the Y-axis (vertical) inversion option.
On PS5, motion controls are coming to life with added gyro aiming support for the DualSense controller. The update will also enhance haptics, which currently only work with weapons, by extending them to healing items and throwable objects.
A new Gameplay Assist menu will also be introduced, offering a range of customisable options, including:
- Quick turn
- Autocomplete QTE
- Button tap simplifications (weapon charging, healing, and more)
- Invincibility, one-shot kills, infinite ammo, and flashlight batteries
Meanwhile, The Lake House DLC runs parallel to the main game, casting players as FBC agent Kiran Estevez, portrayed by Janina Gavankar. This expansion is part of the Alan Wake 2 Expansion Pass, available in both the digital Deluxe Edition and the upcoming physical Deluxe and Collector’s editions. Standard Edition players will need to upgrade to access the DLC.
