Infinity Nikki Announces Closed Technical Playtest for PS5

The developers of Infinity Nikki have announced that PS5 players can now apply for an exclusive opportunity to participate in a closed technical playtest. This marks a chance for fans to experience this highly anticipated game ahead of its official release.

The announcement, shared via Infinity Nikki’s official X/Twitter account, reveals that the application window for the PS5 closed technical playtest will open from 27 October at 21:00 (UTC-7) until 1 November at 08:59 (UTC-7). Players wishing to join in on the action of Infinity Nikki are encouraged to complete the application questionnaire during this timeframe. However, it’s important to note that this is a non-IAP (in-app purchase) testing phase, and all progress made in the game will be reset after the test concludes.

Due to server limitations and potential latency issues, the playtest is limited to players in North America, and participation requires a PlayStation 5 console and an active PSN account. The development team has emphasized that the content available during the playtest is still in development and does not reflect the final quality of the game. Participants are reminded that the test is confidential; sharing information—be it text, screenshots, or videos—on social media platforms is strictly prohibited.

Selected participants will be notified via email once the recruitment phase has concluded, and it’s essential that the account used for the application matches the account utilized during the playtest.

While this playtest is currently exclusive to North American PS5 users, the development team has expressed a commitment to expanding the opportunity to other regions based on the feedback and data gathered. Plus, players from other regions can still pre-register for iOS, Android, PC, and console.

Infinity Nikki is set to be the first open-world title in the series and marks a departure from its mobile-only roots, also expanding onto PC. The team is led by Kentaro Tominaga, known for his impressive work on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, lending significant expertise in open-world design to this exciting new project.

With these developments, anticipation among fans is growing, and many are eager to see how Infinity Nikki will enhance Papergames’ beloved series of mobile titles, which has spanned over 12 years, making it arguably the best Nikki game yet. To find out more, visit the official site.
