It Takes Two Studio Head Josef Fares Teases Next Co-Op Game

Hazelight Studios founder Josef Fares has teased his studio’s next game in a cryptic post on social media.

The only details we know about the game so far are that it will be published under EA Originals and will be another co-op game, just like their most recent game, It Takes Two.

Getting a lot of questions about the next game. Here is a tease. It is a BRAND NEW IP called S**** ******N. Can’t wait to show it soon?

Prior to founding Hazelight, Josef Fares was a movie director. His first video game project was Starbreeze Studios’ Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons in 2013. After that, he founded Hazelight Studios and released their first game, A Way Out in 2018. A Way Out was their first co-op game and that genre is what the studio is best known for until now.

Since launching for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2021 and 2022 (Switch version), It Takes Two has sold over a whopping 20 million copies. It has also won three awards during The Game Awards 2021 for Best Family Game, Best Multiplayer Game, and Game of the Year.

It Takes Two features the clashing couple Cody and May, two humans turned into dolls by a magic spell. Together, trapped in a fantastical world where the unpredictable hides around every corner, they are reluctantly challenged with saving their fractured relationship. It’s one of the best couch co-op games out tehre.
