Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 To Be Ported On PC Next Year; No Extra Story Content Though
If you’re hoping for more Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 DLC like the last game, you’re out of luck. But hey, it’s getting a PC port at the very least.
Developer Insomniac has announced on the official PlayStation blog that the game will be out on PC in January 2025, a year plus after the game was out on PlayStation 5. However, the company won’t be making extra story content for part 2 like they did with part 1.
“While we have no additional story content planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, we’re delighted to bring all of our previously released post-launch content to the PC version, including New Game+, new suits and color variants, Photo Mode features, and more.”
While that is sad news since the previous DLC did bring in new story bits like Black Cat’s arc with Peter Parker/Spider-Man, there is hope that Insomniac is instead busy with a standalone game using the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 engine. Possibly one that puts the spotlight on a certain lethal protector: Venom (that was previously leaked via that huge Insomniac leak).
True, the game did bookend the symbiote storyline, but there’s always spin-offs and standalones, and a chance to use a new host for the symbiote. This is a comic book game with a comic book storyline; you can make stuff up on the fly and people won’t bat an eye as long as they get to play as Venom.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is out right now for PlayStation 5. Insomniac is most likely busy working on the upcoming Wolverine game and allegedly a couple of new Spider-Man projects, one possibly focused on Venom.
