Metaphor: ReFantazio Endings Guide – How To Avoid All Bad Endings

Metaphor: ReFantazio is out right now, and it’s a 100-hour epic Japanese role-playing game adventure worth sinking your teeth into. It’s also got a bunch of bad endings like past Atlus JRPGs, in case you’re curious about the outcome.

Here’s a list of them. Spoiler warning, as usual. For non-spoiler guides and reviews, head here for the former and here for the latter.

All Bad Endings In Metaphor: ReFantazio & How To Avoid Them

All of these endings will occur near the end of the game, with one accessible just before the final boss.

The first bad ending you can get is at the 9/24 “final battle”. Louis will ask you to join him; you can choose to accept which leads to the first bad ending.

The second bad ending choice happens after the battle with Louis in 9/24. You’ll head to the Elda village and discover the truth about the Prince. When asked to accept your role as The Prince, choose to deny your role to get the second bad ending.

The third bad ending prompt happens just before Metaphor: ReFantazio’s final boss fight. You’ll be transported to Akademia and be loaded with a ton of revelations, like the fantasy world you’re in being a lie. When asked to accept or deny an easy escape from your world, pick “accept” and you’ll get the third bad ending.

Once you get a bad ending, you’ll be prompted to reload a previous save and try again. As for the true ending? Well, there’s only one outcome.

Are These Endings Worth It?

Unless you want to be a completionist and see these, then they aren’t. There are no special cutscenes or artwork: just a black screen and loads of text that describes the outcome.
