Genshin Impact Ver 3.6: Layla Hangout Walkthrough

Genshin Impact’s 3.6 update is live now and it features a new Hangout Event featuring a Sumeru spellcaster named Layla.

Her deal is that she needs to complete her thesis before time runs out. As the ever-helpful Traveler, it’s up to you to sort it out and bond with her in the continent of Sumeru. Here’s a guide to unlock all the endings in this sweet hangout with one of Sumeru’s more esoteric characters.

Layla Hangout Ending Guide

Ending #1: Once Bitten, Twice Shy

In Drowsy Evening Star branching path, pick “Can Seelies even do something like that?” and “It sounds a little sketchy, but I’ll go check it out with you”.

Then when you’re at Dislocated Dialogue path, pick “I’ll search for the answer with you.” Then when you are at the Road to Failure branching path, just pick “Let’s take a break..”, and you’ll be fighting a horde of enemies before reaching the ending.

Ending #2: The Price to Pay and Its Returns

Same as Ending #1, but in the Road To Failure branch, pick “The Seelie probably wants to do more than just criticize you for the past. Why don’t you try facing your challenge head-on?” You’ll meet a merchant and have a heart-to-heart talk with him as Layla.

Ending #3: That Which Remains Unspoken

After picking the options for Drowsy Evening Star from Endings #1 and #2, when you’re at Dislocated Dialogue branching path, pick “it might be messing with you”. You’ll then be compiling clues and interrogating people in the academy. Then, you’ll be at the interpreting scene.

  •  Interpret “Book Checkout Logs”
  • Interpret “The Wisdom Seelie’s True Identity” and Associate it with “Sighting Location”.
  • Select “The Wisdom Seelie’s Behavioral Logic” as the conclusion.

Then, just follow the path to the story all the way to a tree that’s shielded with a Dendro barricade. Use a Dendro user to activate the four pillars surrounding the tree, then enter and climb up to reach the telescope. The story will take its course from here on out.

Ending #4: A Matter of Course

In the Drowsy Evening Star path, end the conversation with “It’s too risky to rely on some fishy legend to complete your thesis”. Then you’ll reach the Change of Pace branching path, where you can pick “You think that the blessing from the stars is some external power that’s out of your control” and “Why don’t we try facing the problem head-on?”

When you’re at Remedial Measures branching path, you can either pick “Don’t be nervous. Just explain what you’ve learned” or “This should be a piece of cake for you”. Then when you’re arguing with the scientist with the equipment, pick “Can you briefly describe the application of the law of triple-orbit shift calculation?”. You’ll then get the equipment and head back to the academy to continue the story.

Ending #5: The Stars’ Expectations

When you’re talking to the scientist in Remedial Measures, pick ” If you mess this up, you won’t be able to gain his trust”. You’ll automatically go to this ending after a series of debates.

Ending #6: A Moment of Respite

When you’re at the Change of Pace path, just pick “Only by improving yourself and no longer relying on an external power can you break out of the vicious cycle” and “Sounds like we need to find a way for you to completely relax”. You’ll go on a hiking and swimming trip with Layla.
