Diablo Immortal Gets Epic Crossover with World of Warcraft

Blizzard Entertainment has announced an exciting crossover event entitled “Eternal War” as part of the 20th Anniversary celebrations for World of Warcraft. This limited-time event will offer players of both Diablo Immortal and World of Warcraft unique cosmetic rewards as they engage in a thrilling battle against one of the most infamous foes from the Warcraft universe.

Set to launch on Wednesday, 13 November at 3:00 AM server time, and concluding on Wednesday, 11 December at 2:59 AM server time, the Eternal War event will see players teaming up to confront the formidable Lich King. This challenge will require coordinated efforts from max-level characters, promising an exhilarating experience for players venturing into the dark and twisted landscapes where the two worlds collide.

This crossover comes nearly six months after the Shadows of the Frozen Throne expansion, which featured an invasion of Sanctuary by World of Warcraft’s undead Scourge faction. Just a few weeks prior to this event, Season 31 of Diablo Immortal hinted at a return of Diablo himself, further heightening anticipation for what’s to come.

To unlock the Lich King encounter, players will need Fallen Citadel Gate items, obtainable through daily gameplay in Diablo Immortal—by logging in, completing dungeons, and defeating rare monsters. Additionally, players who missed out on collecting the Frostmourne Weapon Cosmetic and the Icecrown Pathway Portal during the Shadows of the Frozen Throne expansion will have a second chance to acquire these items through the Eternal War’s reward track.

Defeating the Lich King will yield legendary cosmetic weapon sets themed after iconic weapons from World of Warcraft, with one weapon dedicated to each class, including:

  • Shadowmourne for Necromancers
  • Gorehowl for Barbarians
  • Thori’dal, the Stars’ Fury for Demon Hunters
  • Truthguard for Crusaders
  • Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian for Wizards
  • Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker for Tempests
  • Remornia for Blood Knights
  • Fist of the Heavens for Monks

In addition to the Lich King battle, Diablo Immortal players can engage in a new Conqueror PvP map called Cutthroat Basin, allowing them to choose sides between the Alliance and Horde factions from World of Warcraft. Players can also acquire a special Murloc Familiar Skin for their minions, granting them unique fishing perks that can double their catch on a single hook.

Furthermore, World of Warcraft players with a Diablo Immortal character at level 10 or higher will receive a Treasure Nabbin’ Bag, a fun token to showcase during their adventures in Azeroth.

The Eternal War crossover between Diablo Immortal and World of Warcraft is sure to captivate both fans, providing plenty of exciting content to dive into throughout November and December 2024. To find out more, visit the official site.
