The manga has been serialised on Shinchosha’s Kurage Bunch website since April 2022, with the sixth volume set to hit Japanese shelves on 9 November.
The story centres on Kaya, a mischievous kindergarten girl known for causing trouble, and her teacher Chie, tasked with keeping an eye on her. Beneath Kaya’s rough exterior lies a surprising gift—she can see spirits, a talent that sometimes makes her actions seem a bit mysterious.
With its eerie kindergarten setting and a protagonist who’s more than meets the eye, Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai is gearing up to bring a fresh twist to the horror anime landscape. Fans of the manga are eagerly awaiting this adaptation, ready to see Kaya’s supernatural escapades animated. Until then, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more updates—and maybe a glimpse of Kaya’s otherworldly “friends” haunting the small screen soon.
