Mobies 2024: A Celebration of Mobile Gaming Excellence

The Mobies returned to Los Angeles in grand style, spotlighting the best and brightest in the mobile gaming world. Presented by Samsung Galaxy, this annual awards ceremony brought fans, players, and industry leaders together for a night dedicated to celebrating innovation, creativity, and talent within the ever-evolving mobile gaming scene.

Hosted at the renowned Thunder Studios, this year’s Mobies didn’t just meet expectations—it raised the bar. With Barney “Banks” Banks, Daniel “Dgon” Gonzales, and Rachel “Seltzer” Quirico as hosts, the event mixed recognition with entertainment, solidifying its place as the premier celebration for mobile gaming.

Recognising the Year’s Standouts

The winners spanned a wide range of categories, highlighting the diversity and ingenuity shaping mobile gaming today. TikTok earned Mobile App of the Year, applauded for its influence on gaming culture, while MONOPOLY GO! scored two major wins: Mobile Casual Game of the Year and Breakthrough Game of the Year. Other notable awards included:

  • Mobile Game of the Year: Brawl Stars
  • Mobile Action Game of the Year: PUBG Mobile
  • Mobile Strategy Game of the Year: Last War: Survival Game
  • Mobile Competitive Game of the Year: Mobile Legends: Bang Bang
  • Mobile Content Creator of the Year: Donato “TheDonato” Muñoz
  • Campaign of the Year: Stumble Guys x MrBeast

The collaboration between Stumble Guys and MrBeast, which captured audiences worldwide, and the M5 World Championship for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, crowned Live Event of the Year, demonstrated the global appeal and impact of mobile gaming.

A Hallmark Moment for the Industry

Founded by Matt “MobileMatt” Rutledge and the team behind the prestigious Esports Awards, the Mobies aim to celebrate and document excellence in mobile gaming. Reflecting on the event’s success, Rutledge remarked:

“This year’s Mobies showcased the remarkable talent, creativity, and passion driving the mobile gaming industry forward. Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission to honour mobile gaming excellence.”

Mike Ashford, CEO of the Esports Awards, added:

“In just two years, the Mobies have exceeded expectations. This year’s winners represent the pinnacle of mobile gaming innovation, and we’re excited to see this platform continue to grow.”

A Week of Gaming Festivities

The Mobies also served as the opening act for PWR UP Week, a celebration of gaming and esports. The festivities continue with the Esports Awards on 21 November, featuring a star-studded red carpet, custom vehicles by Lexus, and the iconic Glambot.

From influencers and players to game developers and commercial partners, the Mobies reaffirmed their status as a beacon of recognition for mobile gaming’s movers and shakers. Here’s to 2025 and another year of celebrating the heart and soul of mobile gaming.
