Watch This Fatal Fury: City Of The Wolves Veteran Beat Up His Sister With His Eyes Closed In This New Trailer
SNK has released a new character trailer for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and it’s a fan-favourite return.
Gato, an edgelord and powerful martial artist (and brother to Hotaru Futaba), is back in this Fatal Fury game. He retains all of his kung fu moves from Garou: Mark of the Wolves; his Shin-Ga rekka, his Fuu-Ga command leap with nasty follow-ups from ground projectiles to dive kicks (think Akuma’s Demon Flip), and his anti-air Rai-Ga.
However, he looks a little different; he fights with his eyes closed this time. Here’s an explanation from the video trailer:
A man determined to settle the score with his father, Gao, after nearly being blinded by him in the previous tournament. Gato has (for the most part) recovered his sense of sight since the vicious attack; however, after realizing that very sense is what makes his movements sluggish, he now willingly fights in complete darkness. Hearing news of the upcoming KOF tournament, the vengeful Gato once again enters the fray—indeed, with nothing but his father in his sights.
Apart from Garou MOTW, Gato also made appearances in The King of Fighters 2003, The King of Fighters XI, and The King of Fighters XV. Fun fact: the endings of XI and XV for the team he’s in has Hotaru as a cameo.
While it’s pretty cool (though expected) to see Gato in the roster, the lore tidbits above could mean that Gao may be a playable new character in this Fatal Fury; either that or a mid-boss of sorts. Ergo, we might see a not-so-pleasant family reunion between father, son, and daughter (Gao, Gato, and Hotaru). Also, voluntarily fighting with his eyes closed to amp up his fighting style just makes this stone-hearted badass a lot more, well, badass.
Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be out on 24 April 2025.
