A Visual Celebration of Chinese Culture

This episode stands out with its rich Chinese-inspired animation, a deliberate choice by the Secret Level team to honour Honor of Kings’ cultural roots. From the delicate strokes of Yi Xing’s Weiqi matches to the vibrant backdrop of Chang’an, the visuals offer both longtime fans and newcomers a captivating glimpse into Chinese heritage.

Yi Xing Joins the Roster as Honor of Kings’ Newest Hero

The story doesn’t just stay on screen. Yi Xing makes his grand entrance as the latest playable Mage hero in Honor of Kings. He’s a mid-lane powerhouse with crowd control and burst damage skills, making him a strategic pick for team fights. Bonus tip: he pairs excellently with Lu Bu for devastating combos.

Here’s what Yi Xing brings to the table:

  • Kiai: Immunity to lethal damage on cooldown, plus an “Anti-Qi” mark that buffs his abilities when applied to enemies.
  • Joseki: Summons a Weiqi counter to reveal an area for three seconds and deal magic damage.
  • Atari: Hits a target area with magic damage, then creates a Weiqi formation that pulls enemies to its centre for additional damage.
  • Capture: Traps enemy heroes with an empty Weiqi board, locking them in place.

Whether you’re outsmarting enemies in the mid-lane or setting up game-changing plays with his Weiqi-themed mechanics, Yi Xing is a must-try hero. His gameplay also nods to the precision and depth of the ancient game he’s inspired by, adding a layer of cultural storytelling to Honor of Kings.
